Mercy Clinic Primary Care & General SurgeryINTRODUCTION
Evident by an expanding presence in Pauls Valley and Garvin County, the Mercy healthcare group has set a path to ensure that all of the city’s residents have the healthcare options they need. Its wide-ranging operations start with a team of primary care providers, based at Mercy Clinic Primary Care, 415 W. Guy Ave. Services for adults and children include diagnosis and treatment, general medical evaluations and wellness exams, treatment for minor medical conditions and injuries and flu shots and other immunizations. But besides office visits, there are four other ways to connect with Mercy ... CONTINUED ... all accessible through Mercy.net:
Its local commitment started seven years ago when Pauls Valley’s own Dr. Dennis Whitehouse partnered with Mercy. A year later fellow long-time caregiver Dr. Charles Mitchell affiliated with Mercy, creating a solid foundation for further growth. They became part of the nonprofit Catholic healthcare organization founded in 1871 by the Sisters of Mercy. Mercy operates in the four states of Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas. “We’ve grown in ways that matter most to our patients and the community overall,” says Whitehouse. “I am wholly committed to being knowledgeable so I may provide my patients with understanding of the necessary treatments and prevention to maintain their best health and well-being.” Mercy also helps patients by offering various healthcare options through high-tech access. With the MyMercy app, patients can request prescription refills, schedule doctor appointments, view lab results and check in before walking in the door. At-risk patients can get help through Mercy’s Community Health Worker program, that includes patient advocacy, assistance for applying for insurance and Medicaid, and financial assistance. One-on-one connections still define Mercy. Many of the clinic team members live here and Mercy also takes pride in participating in local causes and events. Over the past few months, Mercy has sponsored the Chamber’s State of the City luncheon, and participated in “Boo on the Bricks” and the “Planning for Your Golden Years” informational expo hosted by the Chamber. Its continued commitment to the Pauls Valley community and its wide range of options in service to its patients makes Mercy an obvious choice for the June Business Spotlight. |
